Is eating a problem ?

Hi all Magic MOM'S !

Yes I am back after a long laps! Sorry to all my readers and a big sorry to my Blog Guru! I have been thinking about food a lot these days, with work I have not had time to exercise no matter how I tried to make time, so the vicious cycle of more in put to less out put had finally shown results on the mid section of my body! Huh yes frustration has set in quite rapidly and panicked I started to do my normal schedule. Once I got back on track or to say the treadmill track I feel less guilt and happy!
Tired to bone I was thinking why am I doing this, is it self image or for my healthy well being ? But truly the answer was looking good! Funny but this is it ? about what you see in the mirror, am I shallow to think like this or is it a must these days ? Disappointedly the answer is it ia must in the new trends, looking good is a MUST!
The thoughts that ran across my mind were how much dose this or should this really matter, and for me honestly not too much because I have accepted me as just me. But the story behind all this rattling which I did before is about effects in the negative form to adults and children. Self image has caused tremendous  harm to our new generation specially kids. How ? This has created a large effect on eating habits which has ended in large numbers of eating disorders.
The most common eating disorders are anorexia, bulimia and bringing, these disorders were common in children from 12 years to 17 years but frighteningly now kids young as 9 years!
Anorexia is a condition or a disorder were the child will want to restrict the food intake worrying about fat and calories, basically obsessed about weight gain. Bulimia is a condition were the child will eat more food than necessary but after purge or vomit through worry of weight gain. Bringing is a condition of over eating and looking for comfort in food.
These three disorders are rapidly in rise in our children specially females who are more venerable due to the high standards set for them as beauty. It is so common research reveled that 1 of every 25 females go through this face at some point of there life.
Shocking! But true eating is causing huge problems! Food intake was such a nice, happy experience but now turned into a frightening , worrying experience. So my thoughts on these to you MOM's ? Be aware and even unintentionally never let your children worry too much on the outer appearance , make them feel what is inside is the most important thing. Focus on giving them the true values of life, care, love, compassion, and of course individualism. One mold for each person , customer made, just one of each! Learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all......you heard the song!

Whoopee shopping for schools?!

Hi Moms ,
Happy new year! Hope you all had a barrel load of fun! So as always everything good must come to and end and with a beautiful new year we have big decisions to make, yes let's go school shopping!

Yes Choosing the right school is the second biggest decision every parent makes, the first one is having the child! Anyway not an easy decision since we might run out of too many choices. The first thing that crosses your mind is how practical it is for your child and for you to attend the school plus the financial affordability. A young child's first steps to prepare them to school starts with pre school , Montessori, nursery or kindergarden right ? So first start with defining all these terms! Confusing added to all the rest of the turmoils.  So here goes....

Pre school is a preparation for the young child to get ready to go to elementary or the big school, this concept started way back in 1779 when parents were not home to teach there kids. This is a method which teachers the child reading and writing. But now progressed in to much developed teaching patterns to suit the 21st century needs. Then the other terms a quick clearing out in your mind, Nursery is a place for kids young as 2 to 4 years and kinder garden is " children's garden "  a word in German again just like nursery to help the child grow, blossom and be fruitful just like a garden! Then Montessori the second name of the creator of the curriculum Dr. Maria Montessori. The distinguish difference in this two syllabus are in MontessoriMethod  each child develops at there own pace.

So what do we choose ? My two cents worth ?! Stick to a place which has a mix curriculum both pre school and Montessori, why ? Cause both methods are necessary. Pre school is the system the child will follow right through there learning process in there life, that is teacher directed learning. As per Montessori Method is designed to bring out the natural potential in your child as crawling, walking and talking! Here's the hitch when the child goes to the " big school " the teacher will have a set curriculum and everyone will have to follow at the same pace. Look for a combination it will help you and Benefit your child.

Good Luck
